Two of our students have recently been recognized for their leadership abilities and commitment to service. Charlotte Rishell was selected as our HOBY ambassador, and Anna Maxwell was chosen for the DAR Good Citizen Award!
Charlotte was selected from the sophomore class to represent Salem Central School at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Seminar this spring. The purpose of this seminar is to bring together a select group of high school sophomores who have demonstrated leadership abilities within their school and community to further develop their talents. This program is sponsored by the Salem Area Women's Club.
Anna was named the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award for her dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. The DAR Good Citizens Program aims to encourage and recognize the qualities of good citizenship. Each year, the staff and students at Salem Central School vote to select a senior who embodies these qualities.
