As you may be aware, there have been a series of threats happening to schools in the Capital Region today, as well as across New York State. The threats appear to be recycled or similar to those around the state.

Salem Central School District has yet to be a target of such a threat; however, we are prepared for the potential of that occurring. We take any threat very seriously and will follow all of our emergency protocols to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We will continue to monitor the situation.

Those who believe these threats to be a prank should understand that they have serious repercussions in terms of criminal charges.
