Dear Salem Central Community Members,

I am writing to you with news about an upcoming change in the Salem Central School District leadership team.

Some of you may be aware that Mr. Jared Davis, the Washington Academy Principal for Grades 7-12, recently announced that he has accepted a new position with the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES as Principal of Career and Technical Education and Early College Career Academy. While we are happy for Mr. Davis and believe he will excel in his new role, we will miss his leadership at the Washington Academy.

Please join me in thanking Mr. Davis for his dedication and collaboration during his four-year tenure at Salem Central School District. Mr. Davis connected with and inspired our High School students and staff and has been an integral part of our school community.

While we conduct a search for a new High School principal, the Board of Education will appoint an interim principal this fall. We will advertise the principal position on OLAS (Online Application System for Educators.) Our goal is to appoint the new principal at the beginning of the 2019-20 School Year.

I am confident the 7-12 team will move forward with established building goals and initiatives focused on student learning and growth. We have an incredible team who will continue to support students and make this transition as smooth as possible.

If you have any questions, please contact the District Office at (518) 854 -7855.

Sincerely,

David J. Glover, Ed. D, Salem Central School District Superintendent
