Our Agriculture students recently attended the 91st National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

On Monday, October 29th, Mrs. Sharon Varney announced to the Board of Education and myself her intent to resign as PreK-6 Principal.

On October 18, 2018, our students in grades 8 joined a group of over 1,800 students from the Saratoga/Washington county at the Adirondack Sports Complex Dome for the second annual Career Jam.

Our K-5 Students gathered on Thursday, October 11, 2018, for a Salem PRIDE assembly. The theme of the event was "Positive Attitude and Good Manners."

The Salem Central Board of Education approved and announced the hire of David Eagle as the Interim Principal for Grades 7-12 at a special Board of Education meeting on Monday, October 1, 2018.

Please be advised that our athletic track will be CLOSED starting 10/10/18 and will continue to be closed for the following few weeks.

At 1:45 am, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, The Salem Central School District was informed of a potential threat to the school. The Washington County Sheriff's department immediately investigated the issue and determined there was no credible threat to the safety of our staff and students.

Some of you may be aware that Mr. Jared Davis, the Washington Academy Principal for Grades 7-12, recently announced that he has accepted a new position with the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES as Principal of Career and Technical Education and Early College Career Academy.

Of over 600 schools in upstate New York, Salem Central School has been ranked #46 of the top 50 school districts for highest SAT scores in 2017.

We are incredibly grateful to have had the “Sweethearts & Heroes” team visit our school this winter. Students in grades K-12 gathered to learn about the impact that bullying has on our school, our community, and to us as individuals.

You can earn credit now toward a degree in I.T. Computer Networking, Advanced Manufacturing or Media Arts with SUNY Adirondack. Up to 32 tuition-free college credits are available toward an associate degree in this early high school program, helping you gain valuable job skills and work experience at the same time.
